On June 24, you can hear first-hand how health and care services in Derbyshire are going to be working more closely than ever before.
The Derbyshire Dialogue online forum will look at how the new Joined Up Care Derbyshire Integrated Care System (ICS) will affect everybody's health and social care, as it becomes a legal entity accountable for its partnership approach and making measurable improvements to the lives of local citizens and communities.
Identifying the main causes of lower life expectancy within our communities and tackling the things that contribute to this during the course of people's lives, the ICS works across NHS, council and other sectors to join up local action to make improvements.
Our ICS takes on a new form in 2022, becoming a legal entity accountable for this partnership approach and making measurable improvements to the lives of local citizens and communities.
Lives are not determined by NHS or social care services alone: these services are the safety net for some of life's challenges. Where people live, their education and a range of other factors all contribute to our health and care needs throughout life, so making sure people have the best start in life, are able to develop through their younger years, have fulfilling lives and are supported in older age is essential to our aim of people living longer, healthier lives in Derby and Derbyshire.
