Derby's services for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities were last inspected in June 2019. The inspection found five areas of significant weakness across the local area, and as a result, a Written Statement of Action was published at the end of 2019. Since then, we have undertaken significant work with parents, partners and other stakeholders to make improvements.
To evaluate whether sufficient progress has been made in each of the five identified areas, inspectors from Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be hosting a three day revisit from Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 October.
Ofsted and CQC are keen to gain the views of our parents and carers, specifically about the weaknesses identified in the WSOA, as this will help shape their view of our progress as a Local Area. As a result the attached letter contains a link to a dedicated parent carer survey that we would encourage as many people as possible to complete, as well as details of the other ways that you can share your views.
This survey will be live from midday on Monday 27 September to midday on Friday 1 October.
