Today’s heavy rain has led to a number of flooding issues on roads across the county, with routes in and around Derby being badly affected.
We are asking drivers to avoid unnecessary journeys. If you come across a road that is closed or you are unsure whether it is safe to proceed, turn around and find another route, even if that route adds a lot more time to your journey.
There will be significant standing water on many routes. Drive to the condition of the road and at a safe speed, and do not put yourself or other road users at risk.
